    MORE JUICY DETAILS:

*Our featured Film Makers Jessica Ingersoll-Cope and Kristin Tieche!

These two wonderful women will be screening their short film Forms of Identification, followed by an open discussion and interactive group exercise stemming directly from the film’s art therapy curriculum – fostering deeper connectivity with one’s core identity through creative self-expression.

Forms of Identification is a personal, poetic dance film exploring an artist’s struggle with identity crisis from debilitating loss, in particular Chronic Lyme Disease. The film explores the ways we create who we are, our attachment to our various identities or personas, and where we must go to find our core selves after a perceived or real disaster. The film asks: “When I’ve lost what I perceive to be the most important element of myself, what is left?; Who am I when all my circumstances have changed?”

As an art form, Forms of Identification embodies its message of searching for an identity. It is an artistic collaboration that crosses the boundaries of genre. It is a film that is also a dance. Through creating art in a new genre, the dancer dives into film and ultimately reconnects with the artist-within.

For more information about the film and the artists, please visit http://formsofidentification.com/

*Followed by another Lyme Disease survivor, Robin Carlson and her amazing belly dancing!

At age four Robin saw her first bellydance performance. That childhood inspiration has evolved into a lifelong practice. Since 1996 she has performed locally and internationally as a solo artist and with various companies. In 1999, She moved to San Francisco where she has been fortunate to study diverse styles with some of the Bay Area’s elite bellydancers. Now an elitist herself, Robin consistently brings dedication, poise, and exceptional creativity to the stage.

Robin was born and raised off the grid, in a rural community in the heart of Humboldt County. From a young age, it was clear that she had insatiable appetite for culture and fine arts. As quickly as she could, she moved to an international city where she could develop her diverse interests. She pursued an education and a career in the arts as a curator, designer, and dancer. She holds a BA in art history and an MA in Curatorial Practice. Despite her formal training, she could never shake her bohemian roots; her need for adventure and love of life have never swayed, neither has her ongoing pursuit of the best it has to offer.

*The evening will also include the beautiful spoken word of Cassandra Lynn Hampl (Sweet Beat Petite)

A lover of life… Her passion for inspiring others has led her to engage in finding inner joy and self-mastery. She holds many talents and gifts, which some include nurturing touch, motivational coaching, and performance art (tribal temple dance magic, fire ritual, & conscious spoken word) and Jedi Temple Training. Her mission is to see a world where all humans are living in the power of their core genius, emanating joy, passion, laughter, and sharing their special gifts freely in this beautiful world…
    Listen to her here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KsQfOr_c2sg

*Onamare will be dazzling the night with her Aerial performance!

She feeds her passion for art through a multifaceted array of talent, passion, and grace. Her desire is to inspire with movement and artistic freedom. She has dedicated the past ten years to study the circus arts (aerial and fire artistry, hand-balancing, acro-balance, and improvisation story-telling). She engages in performances that move beyond just entertainment, but hold purpose with intent. The purpose for her is two-folded, one to spark a transcendent experience that feeds the human story and the other to push the edges of cultural perception and human disbelief. Onamare encourages each individual to become their authentic self and live in inner-joy with self-love. She is currently working towards her PhD in Mind-Body Medicine.

Joni became a Personal Therapeutic Chef, Caterer and Instructor to help others make the necessary nutritional changes to provide for a healthy future for themselves, their families and their communities.

She believes once individuals benefit from self-nurturing and healthful nourishment, they are then capable of sharing those benefits with others, which will holistically benefit everyone. Joni’s goal is to ignite love and passion in food to allow people to choose their foods mindfully and wisely.
